Algiers — Minister of Health, Population and the Hospital Reform Abdelmalek Boudiaf affirmed Saturday in Algiers that no "Zika virus" was detected in Algeria.
In response to a question on the sidelines of the ceremony for the presentation of the first biometric identity-card, the minister stressed that "preventive measures have been taken in this regard ", adding that Algeria is a "model" in terms of prevention, even in the opinion of the World Health Organization (WHO).
"Prevention is permanently ensured at our borders, even in the absence of any epidemic," he reassured.
